The Development Director is responsible for leading, managing, and growing HOW’s Development Program while building the strategy and infrastructure to support long-term fundraising goals. As a member of the leadership team, the Development Director works closely with the Executive Director, Chief of Staff, Development Committee, and key stakeholders to strengthen donor engagement, expand fundraising opportunities, and advance HOW’s mission.
The Development Director provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to communications staff to support consistent, mission-aligned messaging and coordinates the work of the donor database consultant/manager to support effective development operations and donor stewardship. The position may also supervise interns, volunteers, and future development staff as assigned. The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative leader skilled at building trust-based relationships, with strong ties to the Cape & Islands and a passion for HOW’s mission.
Helping Our Women (HOW) was founded in 1993 to improve access to healthcare and well-being for women living with chronic or serious health conditions in the towns of Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown. HOW supports over 330 women each year with free, direct services, including: transportation to health and wellness appointments; benefits advocacy and assistance; wellness and social connection programs; food access services; financial assistance; and Peer Wellness Coaching. We maintain an open-door policy to provide information, advocacy, and referrals to all community members.
